VOLKA ENTERTAINMENT LIMITED (“VOLKA“ or “we”) is committed to ensuring that the personal data of job candidates (“you“) are handled in accordance with the data protection laws.

This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal data about you, and the rights you have in relation to your personal data.

VOLKA acts both as a data “controller“ and “processor“, meaning that we both determine the purposes for which, and the manner in which, personal data are processed, and process the data.

1. What personal data we collect about you

We may collect the following personal data from you:

  • Your personal details, such as your name, surname, email address, phone number, residential address; depending on what information you have included in your CV and have provided in your application.
  • Your qualifications, skills, and professional experience as shown in your CV.
  • Any information contained in your correspondence with us.

We may collect personal data about you from other sources as described below:

  • Any information you have made available on academic websites or on social networks (e.g. LinkedIn). 

2. Why we collect and use your personal data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • In order to carry out pre-contractual measures, including the preparation and communication of job offers, potential contract-related communication, the fulfilment of general duties of care by the human resources department.
  • To comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or as necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
  • To pursue our legitimate business interests, such as to assess your data against vacancies which we believe may be suitable for you, to maintain a database of job candidates in order to support our growing recruitment needs as well as our candidates’ career aspirations, to create aggregate and statistical data for the purpose of evaluating our recruitment process and improving our hiring strategy.

3. Where and how long we keep your personal data

We store your personal data on our secure servers. Your personal data are accessed and processed only by personnel who have a need to know such data. We do not share your personal data with any third party. 

We will retain your personal data for one year as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this notice. Upon expiry of that period, your personal data will be deleted. In case you wish to object to the retention of your personal data for the above-mentioned period, please contact us at the email address provided below.

4. Your rights concerning your personal data

Under the data protection law, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to your personal data, which allows you to obtain a copy of the data we hold about you and other supplementary information about our privacy practices with respect to your personal data.
  • Right to have inaccurate personal data rectified or incomplete personal data completed.
  • Right to have your personal data erased in certain circumstances; for example, where there is no good reason for us to continue processing them, or where you have objected to the processing of your personal data (see below).
  • Right to request restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances; for example, while we are considering a rectification or objection request made by you.
  • Right to data portability, which allows you to receive the personal data that you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and also request that your personal data be transmitted to another controller.
  • Right to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation and in certain circumstances such as where we are relying on our legitimate business interests as the legal ground for processing.
  • Right to lodge a complaint about the way we handle your personal data with your local data protection authority. You may address in this regard to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
